The steps I would suggest adding would be right in the begining after installation. You need to tell people to:

1. Log into their Admin > Pages > Add New > and create a new page called Home. Then add all of the Custom Fields. And before they hit “publish” they need to select under “Attributes” on the left “Template” as “Home Page” under the drop down.

2. Next go to Settings > Reading and change the setting under “Front Page Displays” to A static page (select below). then they need to select “Home” as the front page.
